How to Make Your Business Vision Visible
Blogtober! Day 4 of 31 · Sun, Oct 4, 2026
When you're busy keeping your business running, the day-to-day has a way of blurring the bigger picture.
The emails, the deadlines, and the next thing on your list take up so much room that it's easy to lose sight of what you're building towards.
Creating the bigger picture for your business
When I start working with a client, I ask a few questions to bring that bigger picture back into view.
What do you want your business to be known for?
This one gets to the heart of what you care about most in your work, and it sets the direction for everything else you build.
What does your ideal work situation look like?
Who you're working with, where, how, and how busy you want to be. It tells you what kind of business you're building around yourself.
What's the most amazing thing that could happen for your business?
Whatever your answer is, it's enough. Maybe it's a waitlist for your next launch, or maybe it's speaking on stage at a conference in your industry. Maybe it’s hearing someone else call your brand luxurious, or getting asked to be on TV. This is your dream for your business, and it's what we build to take you there.
Making your vision visible
Seeing the bigger picture is the first step.
The next is connecting it to what people see, so each piece of content moves you closer to it.
That starts with your answers.
What you want to be known for becomes the stories, images, and topics you come back to again and again, until people link your business with it.
Your ideal work situation shapes who your content speaks to and how much of it you make, whether you want a few dream clients or a steady stream of new customers.
And your dream for the business gives everything a direction. If it's a waitlist for your next launch, your content might build anticipation week after week. If it's speaking on stage, it might mean sharing your point of view often enough that people see you as someone worth hearing from.
Is your content pulling in what you need?
Look at what you've shared lately and ask yourself: is it pulling in what you need for that bigger picture to come true? The clients, the opportunities, the community. If your answers to those three questions don't show up anywhere in what people see, that's a good place to start.
Which of those three questions was hardest for you to answer?
Share it in the comments if you'd like. I'd love to hear it.
